FUCK PHOTOSHOP
Using the “YOUR LOGO HERE” model, I was able to subvert the classic promotional piece to create something far more powerful. With the two words, “Fuck Photoshop” neatly placed on a #2 pencil, the iconic image spread through the power of the web.
First, I took a photo of the product and uploaded it to the website, Design You Trust. From there, it was quickly picked up by Gizmodo, Boing Boing and thousands of Tumblr sites. On Creativity, it rose to #3 on the Top 20. This led to an Ad Age article about it called, “The Rise of The Side Projects.”
It has over 2.5 million Google impressions that’s led to over 195,000 visits to my Etsy Store, helping me sell over 800 pencils worldwide in less than a year.
